POW! Sadie The Chocolate Lab Is a Whirlwind of Fun!

One of the most enduring friendships in history—dogs and their people, people and their dogs.”

Remember the kid in grade school who was considered a “handful?”

First to run onto the playground during recess, first out the door the minute the bell rang, he had so much energy he couldn’t sit still. He was the one who acted up in class, yet, at the same time, he was smart and creative in a nontraditional way. All he needed was the right environment, the right person to move him in the proper direction.

It’s funny how similar some dogs are to their two-legged counterparts.

Take Sadie, a spayed, chocolate and brown Labrador retriever who has so much energy it will take a special family willing to work with her to adopt her.

She is sweet, all the way through her “little-pee-pickin’” retriever heart, but she is not for the timid or passive dog owner. Sadie demands attention and can seem bossy at times, especially with smaller dogs. She has a high prey drive, so shelter staff wants to make sure she goes to a home with no other dogs and definitely no cats!

She loves to run and play and will easily walk on a leash, but no one evidently told her how big she is.

Sadie is a demanding lady! If she’s off-leash, her understanding of boundaries goes out the window, and her excitement takes over. Her new family will need to train her to have manners around other dogs.

Sadie definitely can seem to be a “handful,” but she has the willingness to learn and enough love in her heart to keep her family close to her for the rest of her life.
