Heads up if you regularly drive on Dunham Road in the village of Wayne.
The Union Pacific Railroad will be closing Dunham Road at the railroad crossing north of the Brewster Creek Circle intersection. The full road closure will allow for the railway crossing to be safely reconstructed, improving the riding surface for Dunham Road motorists.
The road is scheduled to be closed at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, and is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15.
The posted detour route will use IL Route 64 (E. Main Street) to IL Route 25 back to Dunham Road to divert traffic around the construction area. See the map below for details.
Motorists should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, and to obey all traffic control devices. Expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time.
Visit the Kane County Division of Transportation Traffic Advisories webpage for more information on road closures, detours, and active KDOT projects.
