Dine outdoors and savor the flavor of Geneva during Festival of the Vine, an autumn harvest celebration. Initially a celebration of anything grown on a vine, the festival now revolves around food and wine.
The main portion of the festival runs from Friday, Sept. 10, to Sunday, Sept. 12 on Fourth and State streets with additional events taking place around Geneva. A complete schedule of events and hours can be found on the Geneva Chamber of Commerce website.
Geneva’s restaurants will be showcased at the “Flavor Fare” along with a variety of wines for purchase. For more than 40 years, restaurants have set up under one huge tent offering three of their favorite signature items.
Visitors purchase tickets and buy a “taste” at one of the featured restaurants in the tent. To accompany their food, unique wines from around the world will be available for purchase.
Patrons can enjoy versatile local and Chicago area musical and dance entertainers on the stage and on the Kane County Courthouse lawn throughout the weekend.
New this year, people can avoid the lines and purchase their tickets online on the chamber’s website.
Other events during the festival include an arts and crafts show, merchant wine events, business booths, children’s activities, complimentary trolley and horse-drawn carriage rides plus great shopping in Geneva’s historic downtown.
