The Tuesday, Aug. 3, National Night Out hosted by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and the village of Campton Hills are events that entertain and delight as well as forge stronger bonds between law enforcers and residents.

But the National Night Out is also a a spectacular showcase of the equipment, talents and training of first responders.

When you see the jaws of life free a person from a vehicle, the precision attack of an expertly trained K-9, the armored device that can disable a deadly bomb or the landing of an emergency helicopter, you begin to appreciate the resources, dedication and professionalism of those who protect us and are ready at any time to put their safety on the line to ensure the safety of others.

Seen here are some of the images from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office NNO event at the Kane County Judicial Center campus as well as the village of Campton Hills National Night Out event on Aug. 3.

During the event, the Kane County Animal Control’s County Animal Response Trailer made its public debut, making the county well prepared to handle an animal-related disaster.

The National Night Out generally takes place on the first Tuesday in August. If you’ve never attended, be sure to mark your calendar for next year.

As you see in the photos presented here, it’s a truly special night out.
