The village of Algonquin is leading an initiative to improve the recreation function of Presidential Park and update aging amenities.
A public open house is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at Presidential Park, 700 Highland Ave., Algonquin. The purpose of the open house is to inform the community about the process of developing the Park Master Plan, seek community input on how the amenities can be improved, and what the priorities should be for future improvements.
Members of the public may stop by any time during the open house to tour the park and provide input.
In April, the Algonquin Village Board adopted a Parks and Recreation Master Plan to develop actionable items for the village parks and recreation services to strive to accomplish over the next ten years.
The village maintains more than 22 miles of trails, 554 acres of natural areas, 21 developed park sites totaling 174 acres, an aquatic facility, and hundreds of recreation programs.
RSVP is not required but is encouraged. Contact Katie Gock, Recreation Superintendent with any questions at 847-658-5719 or at email@example.com. For more information, please visit www.algonquin.org/recreation.
