UPDATE: Coroner ID’s Elgin Woman Found Dead in Heine Avenue Home

The Elgin Police Department is asking for the public’s help with any information related to the death of a woman whose body was found Monday (July 12, 2021) in a home in the 300 block of Heine Avenue.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office today (Thursday, July 15, 2021) identified the woman as Wendy Ayllon, 33, following an autopsy on Wednesday, July 14.

The preliminary cause of death is pending the results of toxicology samples sent to a forensic lab for further analysis.

According to an Elgin Police Department news release, officers responded at around 6:40 p.m. Monday to the area of Lawrence Avenue and North Aldine Street for a report of a found child in the area.

Through further investigation, police determined that the child, who was unharmed, lived in the 300 block of Heine Avenue. Officers then responded to the residence, where another child was located unharmed.

Upon further investigation, officers located an adult female subject who was deceased inside the residence.

Police said the identity of the female will not be released at this time and the cause, and manner of death will be determined by the Kane County Coroner’s Office pending the results of an autopsy.

Detectives from the Major Investigations Division and Special Investigations Division have been actively investigating the case throughout the night and continue to investigate the incident. They are currently working with the Streamwood Police Department.

“At this time it appears to be an isolated domestic related incident with no danger to the public,” department officials said in a news release.
