Kirk Road at Dunham Road Intersection Improvement Work Begins Week of July 19

Construction is scheduled to begin this week (July 29,2021) for the Kirk Road at Dunham Road intersection reconstruction improvement project, located in St. Charles.

Kane County Division of Transportation officials say improvements will increase safety and improve traffic operations through the intersection.

The work consists of intersection and roadway widening, resurfacing, new traffic signals, drainage, and landscape restoration. The anticipated completion date for the project is Nov. 30, 2021.

The above-mentioned roads will remain open during construction, but may include temporary daily lane closures and flaggers primarily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Visit our KDOT’s Traffic Advisories webpage for more information on road closures, detours, and active KDOT projects.
Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering and leaving the site and obey flaggers and traffic control devices. It is illegal to talk or text on a cell phone while driving.
