Construction is scheduled to begin on the Corron Road project located in Campton Hills this week.
The improvement consists of pavement removal with an application of a thin asphalt overlay to the existing roadway which will extend the life of the pavement. Minor curb and gutter replacement will precede the grinding and overlay on the east side of Corron Road near the Corron Historic Farm.
Pavement removal and paving are expected to begin the week of July 26.
The anticipated completion date for the project is Aug, 26, 2021, weather permitting.
Corron Road will remain open during construction, but may include temporary daily lane closures and flaggers primarily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work areas, consider alternate routes and expect additional commute time.
Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering and leaving the site and obey flaggers and traffic control devices. It is illegal to talk or text on a cell phone while driving.
