Lost your COVID vaccine card? Don’t worry, Kane County health officials say.
Of course, cards have not be required for entrance to most public events, as some folks expected a few months ago.
And you don’t need a vaccination card right now if you are traveling domestically. However, for international travel, you will need to show proof of vaccination, or a negative test result, to enter most other countries that are accepting travelers from the U.S.
Still, there is not yet a universal standard for how to show proof of vaccination, other than the card you receive when you get vaccinated — though several are in development, most for specific uses.
Some colleges and universities will require proof of vaccination, and students and faculty may be asked to upload images of their vaccination cards online.
All of which begs the question of what to do if you’ve misplaced that vaccine card with the CDC logo you received during your first vaccination.
The Kane County Health Department is offering a website link if you wish to request a replacement COVID-19 vaccination card.
At the top of the KCHD website, it says to request a replacement COVID-19 vaccination card, visit https://dph.illinois.gov/topics-services/prevention-wellness/immunization
