OVERVIEW: Coronavirus Infections Could Surge in Fall if Vaccinations Lag
Some health experts say coronavirus — primarily in the form of the Delta variant — could cause a surge in cases this fall if 75% or fewer eligible American remain unvaccinated.
Former Food and Drug Administration chief Scott Gottlieb said made that assessment during the Sunday talk show circuit, according to the Washington Post.
Health officials already have seen significant upticks of cases in states where the vaccination rates are lower. Want to know what areas are most vulnerable? Click this link to the Centers for Disease Control’s COVID-19 Pandemic Vulnerability Index.
Some good news is that COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. have dipped below 300 a day for the first time since March 2020, according to USA Today.
