According to a Coroner’s Office news release and media reports, Alex T. Hall Jr., 52, died Sunday, June 13, at Advocate Sherman Hospital from injuries he received during the fight that took place around 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot at Casey’s Convenience Store, 700 S. 8th St. (IL Route 31) in West Dundee.

Hall was transported from Advocate Sherman to the Kane County Morgue, where an autopsy was performed on Monday, June 14, 2021. The preliminary cause of death was blunt trauma to the neck.

Toxicology samples were sent to a forensic lab for further analysis.

West Dundee Police Police Chief Anthony Gorski said Monday that no arrest had been made at that time, but assured the public that “those responsible for this senseless loss of life have been identified.”

No information was released Monday on the reason for the fight. Witnesses told police that there were several people fighting, and the brawlers fled the scene as police arrived.

West Dundee police are working with the Cononer’s Office, the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force and the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office in the investigation and possible prosecution of the case.
