
Algonquin Police: Chicago Man Charged With Sexual Abuse, Traveling to Meet a Minor

A Chicago man is facing criminal charges after allegedly sexually abusing a juvenile girl inside a car at an Algonquin park.

According to an Algonquin Police Department news release, officers responded at around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, to Holder Park, 1040 Timberwood Lane, after an anonymous caller provided information to SEECOM (dispatch) advising of public indecency.
Upon arrival to the area, officers located a female juvenile, 15 years of age, walking away from the park and observed a male subject inside of a white Honda Civic.
Upon investigating, officers learned that the male subject, 24 years in age, identified as Rafael Brill, who resides in Chicago, had arranged through a phone app to meet with the juvenile at the park.
Further investigation determined the following charges as authorized by the McHenry County States Attorney’s Office.
- One count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.
- One count of Traveling to Meet a Minor.
- One count of Grooming.
Due to the ongoing investigation into this matter, no further information is available at this time.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
