Aurora Man Gets 10-Year Prison Sentence For Sexually Assaulting Child

A Kane County judge has sentenced 35-year-old Jammal J. Drane to 10 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

A Kane County jury in October 2020 convicted Drane of the offense of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, Class X felony.

Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Matthew Rodgers and Lori Anderson presented evidence during the trial that between January and October 2017 Drane sexually assaulted a child younger than 13 years old. Drane knew the child.

In addition to the prison term, Drane must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.

According to Illinois law, Drane must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence. Drane receives credit for 1,028 days served in the Kane County jail.

The Kane County Child Advocacy Center conducted the investigation.
