Kane County officials announced today (Monday, March 15, 2021) that a mass vaccination site will open Friday in Batavia.
Kane County Board Madam Chair Corinne Pierog and Michael Isaacson, assistant director of the Kane County Health Department, made the announcement exclusively on ABC7 Eyewitness News.
According to the ABC7 article, the Batavia site, located at the former Sam’s Club site at 501 N. Randall Road, will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. six days a week.
Pierog and Isaacson said the county will open a call center for people to make appointments.
Officials also announced that Kane County will be making all adults eligible for the vaccine on May 1, according to ABC.
Kane County officials had hoped to open two mass vaccination sites, including one in Carpentersville, but according to an article in The Beacon News, board members decided against the Carpentersville site due in part to the projected costs associated with renting and operating a second location.
This article will be updated when additional information is available from official sources.
