The Illinois Department of Transportation is inviting the public to learn more and comment about proposed improvements to U.S. 30, from east of Dauberman Road to Illinois Route 47, in Big Rock and Sugar Grove.
Instead of hosting a regular public meeting, IDOT will share details on the project and encourage public participation through an interactive website until March 12.
The purpose of the event is to obtain public comment on the:
- Existing conditions on U.S. 30 from east of Dauberman Road to west of Dugan Road.
- Proposed improvements from west of Dugan Road to Illinois 47.
The project, which extended west to meet the limits of Kane County’s Dauberman Road project, proposes to widen U.S. 30, from Dungan Road to Municipal Drive, to two lanes in each direction with a dedicated left turn lane, shoulders and median.East of Municipal Drive to Illinois 47 will be resurfaced and new wider shoulders added. The project will also improve the vertical clearance at the structures carrying U.S. 30 over Illinois 47. Improvements west of Dugan Road to Duberman Road have yet to be determined.
The public can watch a video on the proposed improvements, view exhibits and leave comments at: www.US30EastofDaubermantoIL47.org. The video also is embedded above.
