Coroner ID’s Carpentersville Man Killed in Crash on Route 47 in Huntley

The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the 27-year-old man killed in the Feb. 8 crash on IL Route 47 as Julian M. Torres of Carpentersville.

Huntley police initially responded at about 5:25 a.m. Monday Feb. 8, to a traffic crash in the southbound lanes of IL Route 47, north of Regency Square Parkway. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1999 Acura TL was northbound on Illinois Route 47 and collided with a 2016 GMC Sierra, traveling south.

The sole occupant of the GMC was transported to the Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.

Torres, the sole occupant of the Acura, suffered fatal injuries.

This traffic crash is under investigation by the Huntley Police Department, with assistance from the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.

An autopsy was performed on Feb. 10 at the Kane County Morgue, with the preliminary cause of death described as “multiple injuries.”

The Coroner’s Office said toxicology samples were sent to a forensic laboratory.
