The Kane County Health Department has posted a sign-up link on its website homepage that lets residents get timely information and updates on the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The sign-up is NOT a vaccine reservation or appointment, but simply a way for you to get updates on vaccine distribution in Kane County as soon as the information becomes available.

While at the KCHD homepage, you can also get general COVID-19 information as well as updates on the numbers of coronavirus cases and deaths in Kane County, as well as a breakdown of case counts by community.

“In the coming months, we believe it will be crucial to share timely and important information with the general public, as it becomes available,” health officials say in the Vaccine Information Request introduction.

Officials say the vaccine likely will be disseminated in a number of ways — through employers, physicians offices and at local pharmacies. By singing up to the e-mail alerts, you know you’ll get accurate information from the official local-government source.

The questionnaire simply asks for your first and last name, the city or village where you live, your zip code and your email address.
