The village of East Dundee has announced that River Street will be closed between Barrington Avenue and Railroad street today (Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020) and Friday.
According to the village’s Depot Life e-newsletter, officials approved a project that will involve the resurfacing of the 300 block of River Street. The village’s contractor, Arrow Road Construction, will begin and complete the project by Friday afternoon.
Here’s the schedule:
- Thursday, Nov. 5: Grind off the asphalt surface starting around 7 a.m. Apply prime coat of surface late in the morning or in the afternoon
- Friday, Nov. 6: Pave starting approximately 7 a.m. Thermplastic striping of parking stalls in the afternoon.
To accommodate this work schedule, and to ensure the project is completed according to the above schedule, the 300 block of River Street will be closed from 6 a.m. Thursday until about 4 p.m. Friday.
Officials say the road is being closed to help prevent anyone from parking on that block during the construction period.
The village is pursuing the project this fall, weather permitting, ahead of and without interruption to the 2021 community event season.
Additional village streets will be improved on the same days with temporary closures.
The following streets will be resurfaced: Wilmette Avenue (Bonnie Dundee north to the village limit), King Avenue (Reese to Oak) and Springcrest Road (between the addresses of 408 and 500).
The following streets will have some patching work done: King Avenue (North end, just south of Oak), Bonnie Dundee Road (Wilmette to Ravine) and Hawthorne Lane (Oak Ridge to Ravine).
