Fox Valley Park District Adjusts Services For Tier 3 Mitigation

Tier 3 mitigation requirements issued by the state of Illinois will be implemented for the Fox Valley Park District, effective Nov. 20, 2020.

“We’ll adjust program and facility operations to adhere to the Tier 3 requirements, which result in either a pause in activities or reduced capacities within some areas,” officials said today (Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020).

A copy of the Tier 3 Mitigation Requirements can be found on the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity website by clicking here.

The FVPD plan is similar to what many park districts are doing in Kane County. Click this link for more information.

Health & Fitness Center Updates

  • Fox Fitness: 25% capacity monitored at entry (scan-in required).
  • Personal Training: Reservations required.
  • Indoor Group Exercise Classes: Paused until further notice.
  • Locker Rooms: Will remain open.
  • Therapy Pool: Operating at 25% capacity.
  • Competition Pool: Lap lane swimming & private lessons only.
  • Tennis: Individual Sports Training/Private Lessons only (reservations required).

Programs Updates: Mask must be worn at all times

  • eCARE: In-person groups limited to 10 or fewer.
  • Creative Play & Nature Play Preschool: In-person groups limited to 10 or fewer.
  • Individual Sports Training/Private Lessons: Reservations required.
  • Outdoor Programs: Limited to 10 or fewer.
  • Performing Arts, Indoor Group Sports & Recreational Activities (including Youth & Adult): Paused until further notice.

This pause of indoor activities may affect the remainder of the FVPD winter programs, rentals and events that had scheduled class dates in November and December.

“Our staff is currently working on making the necessary adjustments to our indoor recreational activities and will send program email updates, as well as automatically process refunds, for any program dates that are unable to be rescheduled or held. You do not need to request a refund,” officials said.

Please note: The refund process will take up to 14 business days to complete from the time participants receive notification of a program cancellation. We’ll continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and communicate any further program or event cancellations to participants.

“In the meantime, we remain committed to delivering programs in an adjusted capacity,” Park District officials said. “Please visit our Facebook pages or Virtual Recreation Page, which is filled with activities to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay engaged in recreation while at home. Consider adding a fun activity or two to your daily routine!

“As always, we’ll continue to communicate any updates as decisions are made, and we look forward to serving you in the near future.”
