UPDATE: Aurora Police Searching For Vehicle After Bicyclist Killed in Weekend Hit-And-Run Crash

The Aurora Police Department is searching for a vehicle wanted in connection to a hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist on the city’s east side Saturday evening.

According to an APD news release, Aurora’s 911 Telecommunications Center received reports just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 14, 2020) of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Montgomery Road and White Eagle Drive.

Aurora police officers and Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and found a man lying in the roadway. Paramedics attempted to perform lifesaving measures, but unfortunately pronounced the man dead on the scene.

The man has now been identified as Dragomir Misic, 27, of the 2300 block of Avalon Court in Aurora.

Traffic Investigators are still searching for the offending vehicle and the investigation into the specific circumstances is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Division at 630-256-5330 or call Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 to report information anonymously.

Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards up to $5,000 and anonymity to citizens who furnish information leading to the arrest of felony crime offenders and the capture of felony fugitives.

Montgomery Road remained closed between Route 59 and Chicory Lane while traffic investigators reconstructed the accident. Emergency Volunteer Service members from Aurora’s Emergency Management Agency provided light trucks and street blockades to assist with road closures and scene lighting.
