Valley Sheltered Workshop Oct. 17 Pig Roast Benefits Adults With Disabilities

The Oct. 17 pig roast proceeds benefit the Valley Sheltered Workshop, which provides employment for adults with disabilities.

Valley Sheltered Workshop is hosting an Oct. 17 pig roast event to raise funds for adults with disabilities.

The annual event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at a new location.

Due to road construction on Main Street in Batavia, this year’s pig roast will be located at the Batavia Boardwalk Shops at the southeast corner of Main Street and and IL Route 25.

The event will again be hosted by Team FIB, who will be offering a meal to-go that includes a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and coleslaw for $10.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated by Team FIB to help maintain and operate the workshop, which provides employment for adults with disabilities.

“Be sure to mark your calendar and stop by for some great tasting Q,” organizers said in a news release. “See you there!”
