Consider this your personal invitation for public comment on the Kane County 2020 Solid Waste Management and Resource Recovery Plan Update.
The 2020 Solid Waste Management and Resource Recovery Plan Update 45-day public comment period runs from Sept. 11 to Oct. 26, 2020, with the public hearing to be held in conjunction with the Energy and Environmental Committee meeting at 9 a.m. Oct. 16 in the County Board Room at the County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave. in Geneva.
Kane County and Aptim Environmental are looking for any public comment pertinent to the recommendations for actions proposed in the plan — from input on community impacts to ideas for minimizing waste and maximizing diversion from landfills.
Review of the plan may include consideration of how the recommended actions might help further the work of your community or organization in the field of sustainable materials management.
Kane County invites public comment, not only by private citizens but also by non-profit organizations, industry groups, and other government agencies.
County officials will take all comments into account, and all written submissions will be included verbatim in the appendices of the plan, unless the author’s desire to NOT publish their comment is expressly requested.
