What is the Kane County Regional Office of Education doing to help teachers stay engaged and at the top of their games during the pandemic?
One way is an innovative program launched back in July called “Inspire,” a professional learning subscription box for educators. Inspire is designed to meet the need for quality professional learning, especially at a time when in-person workshops are not as readily available.
“Inspire” is a subscription box delivered monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually directly to educators’ homes.
Each box provides the opportunity to earn eight professional development hours by reflecting on the practices implemented in the classroom that were provided in the box.
Boxes also come with gifts for teachers ranging from tech to use in the classroom or at home, self-care items, and more. Each box has a specific instructional theme, and those themes are directly related to each month’s strategies.
“Inspire” gets its name partly from the Kane County Regional Office of Education’s tagline, “Lead, Assist, Inspire,” and because the idea was inspired by the Burlington Central Instructional Coaching Team.
Each box costs $75. To put it into perspective, a typical full-day in-person workshop that counts for eight PD hours typically costs anywhere from $125 to $400. With “Inspire,” teachers get the same applicable, timely professional learning for the same PD hours with the fun of getting the PD box delivered right to his or her front door
Boxes are shipped monthly. Educators can click here to register for your box today and be inspired!
