Elgin Hosts Sept. 12 Illinois Brews Virtual Event

Without the ability to host the annual, face-to-face brew fest outside the clubhouse at Bowes Creek Country Club this year, the Elgin Parks and Recreation Foundation will host a live, virtual tasting event at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.

Each ticket includes a six-pack of assorted craft beers from local breweries and participants will drink together during he virtual event, broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook.

Participants will hear from the creative craftsman of the beers provided, receive insight as to the type of beer it is, how it was brewed and its best pairings. All craft beer aficionados are encouraged to share opinions of each beer and join the online discussion.

Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased online at cityofelgin.org/ILbrews. Details about beer pick-up will come via email after tickets are purchased. Kick back, relax and open a cold one (or six!) from the comfort of your own home while supporting a good cause — no designated driver needed.

Every dollar raised from ticket sales and donations will go directly to providing recreational opportunities for at-risk children in Elgin.
