UPDATE: Bliss Road Project Postponed To 2021 — No Lane Closures This Week

A project to remove and replace the existing concrete box culvert on Bliss Road has been postponed to the 2021 construction season due to utility delays, which means the lane closures anticipated for this week will be postponed, as well.

Officials had expected Bliss Road to be temporarily restricted to one lane for passenger vehicles only (no trucks) traveling northbound between Seavey Road and Main Street Road starting the week of Aug. 24.

The culvert replacement work had been expected to take four months to allow for the safe demolition of the existing culvert and replacement with a new concrete box culvert.

When the project takes place next year, work will include earth excavation, ditch grading, new asphalt pavement, pavement markings, guardrail and streambank stabilization and restoration.
