Remembering Elgin in the 1950s — Aug. 5 on Zoom!

The 1950s in Elgin are remembered as the “good old days” and a time of unprecedented growth and prosperity to many.

Whether you were alive during the era or just want to learn more about the time, travel back to this decade of mom and pop grocery stores, soap box derbies, and slot machine raids with Historian Jerry Turnquist.

The Zoom virtual event is presented by the Gail Borden Public Library and takes place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5.

After registering on the Gail Borden Public Library website, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the program via Zoom.
