The state of Illinois has provided markets with guidelines to maintain a safe environment at farmers markets.

Markets and vendors are encouraged to implement touchless payments, minimize customer contact with produce, and design the market to minimize crowding. Six feet of social distancing and face masks are required, and vendors must provide hand sanitizer.

Some markets have dedicated times that are only open to elderly, pregnant, or otherwise high-risk customers.

Visit your local market’s website to find out more about their safety policies.
