ComEd Reports 648 Kane Homes Without Power as of Aug. 12

As of Wednesday afternoon, there are 648 ComEd customers in Kane County without power, according to ComEd’s Power Outages Status Page.

“We appreciate your patience as our 1,900 team members work safely to restore energy to affected customers as quickly and safely as possible,” ComEd says on its website.

If you encounter a downed power line, immediately call ComEd at 1-800-EDISON1 (1-800-334-7661) or go to ComEd.com to report the location. Spanish-speaking customers should call 1-800-95-LUCES (1-800-955-8237).

It’s important to note that some municipalities’ operate their own electric systems, so check with your municipality’s websites for the latest information.

In the Chicago area, as of 3:37 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, ComEd had 5,861 total customers affected out of a total customer base of 4,028,346.
