Kane County prosecutors allege that at about 12:30 a.m. June 16, 2020, Victim I was on an elevator in the parking deck in the 200 block of East Chicago Street, Elgin.

Arcos and Emelyanova got onto the elevator and began punching Victim I in the face. During the alleged attack, money fell from Victim I’s pocket.

Arcos picked it up and put it in his own pocket. Emelyanova smashed a beer can into Victim I’s face multiple times, and Arcos and Emelyanova spit on Victim I.

They went through Victim I’s pockets and continued punching Victim I in the face and kicked and stomped on Victim I’s stomach.

After Arcos and Emelyanova left, Victim I flagged down a police officer and was taken to a hospital.

At about 1:30 a.m., in the vicinity of East Grove Street and South Grove Avenue, Elgin, Emelyanova approached Victim II and punched Victim II in the face, pushed Victim II to the ground, again punched Victim II in the face, then kicked Victim II.

Arcos pulled Emelyanova off Victim II, and they walked away.

Victim II contacted police and identified Emelyanova as the attacker. Elgin police found Emelyanova, charged her with misdemeanor battery and released her on her promise to appear in court.

At about 9:20 a.m., Victim II was in Carleton Rogers Park on North Spring Street, Elgin, when Emelyanova and Arcos approached. Emelyanova began screaming at Victim II, grabbed Victim II’s hair and punched Victim II in the face.

Victim II saw metal knuckles in Emelyanova’s hand and saw Emelyanova give the metal knuckles to Arcos.

At about 2:30 p.m., Victim III was in Carleton Rogers Park when Arcos and Emelyanova approached. Arcos punched Victim III multiple times on the left side of the head.

Emelyanova is free on $3,000 bond. Her next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 7, 2020, in Courtroom 313 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Arcos is free on $3,000 bond. His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 19, 2020, in Courtroom 313 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

The charges against Arcos and Emelyanova are not proof of guilt. Arcos and Emelyanova are presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the state’s burden to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
