One Man Dies After Fourth of July Weekend Shooting in Aurora

A 26-year-old Aurora man has died after a Sunday-morning shooting spree on the city’s west side that sent three people to the hospital.

According to an Aurora Police Department news release, 26-year-old Michea Figgures, of the 0-100 block of Westgate Drive in Aurora, has died as a result of his injuries.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting incident that took place around 4 a.m. in the 100 block of Trask Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Figgures suffering from gunshot wounds. Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital.

A short time later, a 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman arrived at an Aurora hospital also suffering from gunshot wounds. The 28-year-old man was treated and released from the hospital. The 18-year-old woman remains hospitalized and was listed in serious but stable condition as of Monday.

Aurora police ask anyone with information to please come forward and speak with detectives.
