Kane Police Agencies Make Multiple Impaired Driving Arrests

Three individuals face felony charges for alleged impaired driving and two others face felony charges for allegedly possessing methamphetamine while driving during the last weekend in June.

Gregorio Ledesma-Lopez, 69, of Elgin is charged with the offenses of aggravated DUI – no driver’s license, a Class 4 felony, and no valid driver’s license, a Class B misdemeanor.

Kane County prosecutors allege that at about 5:45 p.m. June 27, 2020, Ledesma-Lopez was impaired when he drove into two parked cars in the vicinity of Laurel and Healy streets, Elgin. He had no driver’s license.

His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 30, 2020, in Courtroom 313 at the Kane County Judicial Center. Case No. 20CF1152.

Colin R. Houston, 26, of Joliet is charged with the offense of aggravated DUI – license suspended or revoked, a Class 4 felony.

Kane County prosecutors allege that at about 3 a.m. June 28, 2020, Houston was impaired as he drove east on Interstate 88 in western Kane County. His driver’s license was revoked. His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. July 30, 2020, in Courtroom 313 at the Kane County Judicial Center. Case No. 20CF1155.

James Malagon, 39, of Aurora is charged with four counts of aggravated DUI, a Class 4 felony.

Kane County prosecutors allege that at about 9 p.m. June 28, 2020, Malagon was impaired, driving with a revoked license and driving without insurance in the vicinity of Austin Avenue and Mountain Street in Aurora Township. His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. July 29, 2020, in Courtroom 217 at the Kane County Judicial Center. Case No. 20CF1154.

Manuel Alvarez-Villagomez, 36, of South Elgin is charged with the offenses of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony, criminal damage to government property, a Class 4 felony, and resisting/obstructing a police officer, a Class A misdemeanor.

Kane County prosecutors allege that at about 1:15 a.m. June 27, in the vicinity of 1200 East Indian Trail Road, Aurora, Alvarez-Villagomez was in possession of methamphetamine inside of his vehicle when his vehicle intentionally struck an Aurora police vehicle. Additionally, Alvarez-Villagomez refused to provide identification to police.

His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. July 30, 2020, in Courtroom 319 at the Kane County Judicial Center. Case No. 20CF1149.

Khaykeo B. Obmalay, 25, of Gilberts is charged with the offenses of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony, and driving on a suspended license, a Class A misdemeanor.

Kane County prosecutors allege that at about 10 a.m. June 28, 2020, Obmalay was in possession of methamphetamine as he drove his motorcycle east on Big Timber Road. Obmalay’s license was suspended. He also was wanted on two arrest warrants.

His next court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 3, 2020, in Courtroom 217 at the Kane County Judicial Center. Case No. 20CF1153.

The charges against those named above are not proof of guilt. Each is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the state’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
