COVID-19 Testing Expands Through Aug. 2 at Multiple Sites in Kane County

The Kane County Health Department announced today that the Aurora location for mobile COVID testing has changed for the event on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The mobile testing unit managed by the Illinois Department of Public Health will be in several municipalities in Kane County this week to provide COVID-19 tests to the community.

Testing is free and open to all regardless of symptoms. More than 200 individuals were tested at the Geneva location on Monday.

The mobile testing unit will be available in Elgin, St. Charles, Aurora and Carpentersville from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on certain dates through Aug. 2.

  • Wednesday, July 29 — Kimball Middle School, 451 N. McLean Boulevard, Elgin
  • Thursday, July 30 — Dundee Crown High School, 1500 Kings Road, Carpentersville
  • Friday, July 31 — Illinois Youth Center, 4450 IL Route 38, St. Charles (Public hours limited to 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • Saturday, Aug. 1 NEW LOCATION— Main Baptist Church, 814 E. Galena Boulevard, Aurora
  • Sunday, Aug. 2 — Dundee Crown High School, 1500 Kings Road, Carpentersville

Anyone can be tested. If you have recently been exposed to a potential or confirmed COVID-19 case, you are encouraged to get tested, even if you are not experiencing symptoms.

A phone number and name are required in order to receive testing results. A driver’s license or other form of photo identification is requested. High demand for testing may result in long wait times.

Those using drive-thru testing must be seated at a functioning window. Once you get in line at the site, you will not be permitted to exit your car. These sites will also accommodate walk-up individuals.

Additional testing options are available in Kane County.

The Community-Based Testing Site, located at the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall, 1650 Premium Outlet Boulevard in Aurora is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week. Testing at this site is free. For more information about all available testing sites in Kane County, visit the IDPH website.

Many healthcare providers in Kane County also have COVID-19 testing available. Please contact your provider or the facility to ask about testing criteria and appointment availability.
