Aurora police officers and Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene and found a man lying in the roadway. Paramedics attempted to perform lifesaving measures, but pronounced the man dead.

Witnesses told police they saw two vehicles strike the man.

The first vehicle pulled off into a nearby parking lot and waited to speak to officers, but the other vehicle fled.

Officers are following up on leads to locate the second vehicle.

Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Division investigators used state-of-the-art drone technology to create a 3D digital map of the scene that allows investigators to see specific details and measurements.

Ogden Avenue remained closed between South Frontenac Street and Village Green Drive while traffic investigators reconstructed the accident. Volunteer members of Aurora’s Emergency Management Agency provided light trucks and street blockades to assist with road closures and scene lighting.

As of 10 a.m. Friday, the crash remains under investigation and traffic investigators are still searching for the second vehicle involved in the incident.
