Green Infrastructure Forum Set For March 20 in St. Charles

Join the Fox Valley Sustainability Network at 2 p.m. Wednesday, on May 6, for a webinar on flooding and green infrastructure.

“Trends in Green Infrastructure: from County to Community” will be a open to all, but it’s especially valuable for aldermen, community board members, public works employees, consultants and planning departments.

The Fox Valley Sustainability Network brings together the public and private sectors from around the Fox Valley to cut across boundaries and create a healthy, sustainable and vibrant Fox Valley.

Call-in information will be provided the week of the event.

Topics will include:

  • Trends in green infrastructure, data on regional flooding and the impact of climate change and flooding.
  • Kane County Stormwater Management Ordinance.
  • Village of Montgomery Case Study.

The Fox Valley, also known as the Fox River Valley, is a region that runs along the Fox River of Northern Illinois. It surrounds the western edges of the Chicago metropolitan area. The region extends from the village of Antioch in far northern Illinois, to the city of Ottawa in the south. It includes rural areas, suburban development, and 19th-century downtowns. Around one million people live in this area.
