Aurora Police Seek Public’s Help in Investigation of Shooting on City’s West Side

The Aurora Police Department is seeking the public’s help regarding an investigation of a shooting that sent one man to the hospital on the city’s west side late Wednesday afternoon.

According to an Aurora Police Department news release, officers were dispatched at around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a person shot in the 800 block of Oliver Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the man to an area hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting, but preliminary information shows that the shooting appears to be gang-related.
