Three teenagers were hurt, including one in critical condition, after a single-car crash Friday (May 8, 2020) in the 41w300 block of Powers Road in unincorporated Rutland Township.
According to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies responded at around 9:15 p.m. to a report of a single-vehicle accident.
Upon investigation, deputies discovered that a Nissan Sentra driven by a 15-year-old female from Lake In The Hills was eastbound on Powers Road from IL Route 47 when the vehicle went around a curve, exited the roadway on the south shoulder and struck a tree.
The driver was transported to Northwestern Medicine Hospital for minor injuries.
A 16-year-old female passenger from Huntley was airlifted from Northwestern Medical Hospital in Huntley to Lutheran General Hospital and is listed in critical condition. Another female passenger, age 15, was transported from the scene by a family member to Northwestern Medicine.
The crash is under investigation by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
