The most likely axis of highest totals is along and south of I-80. Expect the highest rates from 2 AM – 7 AM CDT Friday, which will lead to some adverse impacts to the Friday morning commute. Kane County Among Wednesday Snow-Total Leaders

Yes, we got dumped on April 15 — but not the way one might expect.

It was Mother Nature, not the IRS, that got us on what might otherwise be called “Tax Day.”

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, Kane County communities were among the league leaders in snow totals today.

Tops on the list was Elburn, with 3 inches. Next were Batavia (2.6 inches), North Aurora (2.5 inches) and Sugar Grove (2.4 inches).

More Snow Coming?

Cold spring weather will continue through Friday.

“We are not out of the woods with winter precipitation, with another round of accumulating snow becoming more likely Thursday night into early Friday,” the NWS said.
