The Illinois Department of Transportation will host a public meeting March 18 at the University of Illinois at Chicago to share updates on the status of the Jane Byrne Interchange project.
Work will begin later this spring that will lead to closures of Jackson Boulevard and Adams Street as well as multiple expressway ramps later this construction season.
The meeting will be in an open-house format from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the UIC Forum, 725 West Roosevelt Road, Chicago.
Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously during the meeting. Project team members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
IDOT says the Jane Byrne Interchange project will improve safety and traffic flow for the more than 400,000 motorists who use it daily, while enhancing mobility for bicycles, pedestrians and transit.
The overall project will be complete in 2022.
