2020 Primary U.S. Results: Biden Wins Illinois; Oberweis Takes 14th District GOP Primary

Joe Biden in the Democratic presidential primary winner in Illinois, defeating Bernie Sanders in almost every county.

Illinois has 155 delegates to award.

Biden had 59.1% to Sanders’ 36.1%, with 9,974 of 10,114 precincts reporting.

Biden did even better in Kane County, where he won 57.8% of the vote to Sanders’ 36.5%. With all 291 precincts reporting Biden had 29,165 Kane County votes, while Sanders tallied 18,416.

Tribune Calls 14th District GOP Nomination For Oberweis

State Sen. Jim Oberweis of Sugar Grove will face off against incumbent Lauren Underwood for the 14th Congressional District race in November.

With 462 of 462 precinct reporting, the Chicago Tribune says Oberweis’ 13,187 votes topped the six other candidates vying for the GOP nod. Sue Rezin was second with 11,720, Catalina Lauf third with 10,365, Ted Gradel fourth with 6,864, James Marter fifth with 5,666, Jerry Evans sixth with 2,576 and Anthony Catella seventh with 1,109.
