Aurora police have secured charges through the DuPage County State’s Attorney on a 30-year-old man in connection with two tanning spa burglaries that occurred last October.
David Langford, whose last address is in the 1300 block of Monona Avenue, Aurora, was charged last week with two felony counts each of burglary and criminal damage to property stemming from two separate incidents at L.A. Tan in the 400 block of North Eola Road on Oct. 19 and Oct. 28, 2015. In both burglaries, Langford allegedly broke through a large window to make entry shortly after 11 p.m., and either stole or attempted to take money left in cash registers. An undisclosed amount of money was missing from the burglaries. The total damage from the broken windows was estimated to be $2,000.
Aside from the burglaries with which Langford is charged, police say he is also a suspect in an additional break-in at the Eola Road facility on August 2 along with those at L.A. Tans in the 2900 block of Kirk Road on Sept. 14 and 2100 block of West Galena Boulevard on Oct. 18. Investigations into those incidents are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 630-256-5500.
Langford is currently being held in the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles on unrelated charges.
Aurora police are crediting the assistance of the DuPage County Crime Lab for the charges on Langford.
