For community residents struggling with a substance use disorder, Renz Addiction Counseling Center is offering free alcohol and drug use assessments throughout November and December. The assessment involves completing a questionnaire and meeting with a counselor at the Center’s Two American Way in Elgin facility. Appointments are necessary. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (847) 742-3545.
“The holidays are often about over indulgence,” said Renz Center’s Executive Director Jerry Skogmo. “For the individual with a substance use disorder, too much alcohol and drug use often leads to undesirable behavior and increased health risks. By completing an assessment, treatment can begin and the holidays can be about family and friends and a healthier, more enjoyable life.”
Renz Center provides a continuum of care dedicated to the prevention, intervention and treatment of addictive behaviors related to alcohol, drugs, and gambling. Services range from prevention programs for youth in the schools to outpatient treatment programs for adolescents and adults. Offices are located in Elgin, St. Charles, and Streamwood.
