Kane County Forest Preserve District is offering a couple of August strolls through Muirhead Springs Forest Preserve.
The Forest Preserve District of Kane County invites area seniors to join us for our free monthly “Senior Stroll” program on Thursday, Aug. 6.
On the first Thursday of each month, Forest Preserve naturalists lead a leisurely walk through a Kane County forest preserve, and share ecology highlights along the way. The strolls last about an hour, with social time and refreshments following the walk.
The Aug. 6 “Senior Stroll” takes place at Muirhead Forest Preserve from 10 a.m. to noon. All seniors are welcome. Registration is not required for this program.
Muirhead Forest Preserve is located at 42W855 Bahr Road, Hampshire.

At this “Sense of Place” program, we’ll learn the history of the preserve’s namesake and the ecology of the area. Senior Ranger Mandy Morgan and Nature Programs Manager Valerie Blaine will present the history of land use, preservation and restoration of this area.
Advanced registration is required for this Learn from the Experts program. This program is for adults age 18 and older, and has a registration fee of $10. Call 630-444-3190 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
Learn from the Experts programs are taught by experts in their respective fields and offer in-depth learning opportunities about our local ecology. The programs are offered through a partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, St. Charles Park District and Geneva Park District.
