Community volunteers of a local non-profit have been providing fundamental assistance to numerous underprivileged children since its inception in 1997. On Thursday, the foundation’s 2014 Spirit Wrapping Event took place at a local retailer in St. Charles.
The Renaissance Foundation President Nuala Rosensteel held the first annual Spirit Wrapping Event in 2011, and the number of gifts donated and families assisted has grown every year.
“In 2013, we provided for over 130 homeless children, this year that number increased to 168,” Rosensteel said. “We could not do it without our corporate and local organizations, as well as residential donors.”
Visit the Renaissance Foundation website to learn more about the organization and how you can donate. The Renaissance Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and a privately organized charitable fund existing exclusively for literary, medical, religious, scientific and educational purposes in order to benefit children who would not otherwise receive such gifts, grants and distributions.
