The Literacy Connection needs more tutors.

Sadly, 150 adults remain on our waiting list to share their goals with someone who can tutor them.

Can you give one or two hours per week to help someone achieve their goals in 2014? Open your heart this summer and consider becoming an adult volunteer literacy tutor. You will change your life and someone else’s life. Imagine if you or a loved one struggled with literacy or communicating in English. Wouldn’t it be wonderful news to know that there are tutors out there who can and want to help?

Introduction to The Literacy Connection & Tutor Training takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays, July 14, 16, 21 and 23 from 6-9 p.m. at Poplar Creek Public Library, 1405 S. Park Ave, Streamwood.

Please note on July 14, the first hour will be an introduction to The Literacy Connection and the last two hours is the training session. It is just $25 for the book and materials.

Registration is recommended for those interested in attending. Please call The Literacy Connection at 847-742-6565 or email for more information and visit the website at to learn more about our organization.
