People all over Kane County are celebrating literacy and good, old-fashioned neighborliness this summer by installing Little Free Libraries.
The idea isn’t anything new, but it’s a growing trend, and the most-recent evidence comes in the form of an email to Kane County Connects this morning from alert reader and Montgomery Trustee Stan Bond. You can see the photo here.
“This newly installed Little Free Library, donated by my wife and I and installed along a walking path has fostered considerable attention to summer reading and literacy,” he said. “Many parents have submitted photos like this one of children enjoying a neighborhood library they can easily reach and enjoy. Thought you might find the concept interesting.”
Indeed, we do. So we’re sharing here and asking you to do likewise. Got a little library in your neighborhood? Email photos to email@example.com. If we get enough photos, we’ll publish a photo gallery for the world to see and enjoy.
