The designation of April 14-20, 2024 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week recognizes the role of emergency dispatchers in safeguarding communities nationwide. Among these vital responders is Kane County's 911 center, KaneComm, which remains prepared in times of crisis. Through their  dedication and swift action, the telecommunicators at KaneComm ensure that critical information reaches first responders promptly, contributing significantly to the safety and well-being of residents in Kane County and beyond.     911 Telecommunicators Week 20242.jpg

Kane County Emergency Communications (KaneComm) is a multi-jurisdictional dispatch center responsible for the deployment of several Police, Fire, and Medical agencies located within Kane County. KaneComm personnel are tasked with all of the incoming emergency and non emergency calls for assistance from citizens residing in these jurisdictions.​​


PROCLAIMING APRIL 14-20, 2024 NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY
TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK

WHEREAS, over one-half million dedicated men and women are engaged in the operation of emergency response system for Federal, State and local governmental entities throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Emergency Communications Center that receive these calls has emerged as the first point of contact for persons seeking immediate emergency assistance and is expected to multi-task under emergency conditions with compassion,
accuracy, and professionalism throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, this week, celebrated annually, honors the thousands of men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and
render lifesaving assistance to the citizens, residents, and visitors of Kane County; and 
WHEREAS, County Board Chairman, Corinne M. Pierog, is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation calling on the people of the County of Kane to observe this week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof may and hereby will declare the week beginning April 14, 2024 thru April 20, 2024 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and congratulate the dedicated
and hardworking members of the Kane County Emergency Communications Center for their ongoing service rendered to the community.
