Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Meet Iced Tea
“In the beginning, God created man, but seeing him so feeble, He gave him the cat." – Warren Eckstein, American “Pet behaviorist," animal trainer, humorist, author
Wide green eyes stare up at the person looking down at her.
She's a paradox with four paws and a tail. The aura around her gives her the essence of “all knowing" while at the same time, seeming to understand that her life is unfolding in ways she probably never saw coming.
She arrived at KCAC as a stray. At only 2-years-old, this female brown and black Domestic Shorthair might get called, “striking." Others may want to describe her as beautiful or “lion-like."
Whatever the label, it's probably easier to just call her Iced Tea.
She seems perfectly content to watch the world pass her by as long as she gets a daily number of pets! She also loves to be held. Better yet, give her some extra “shoulder time" and she will stay with you for as long as you want. When the world becomes too much, she will cuddle up with you, lying down next to you or on your lap.
She has a soft physique which is in need of a little “toning." Suffice it to say she probably would benefit from a few exercise sessions or, better yet, additional zoomies around the room every day. Since she absolutely loves playing with toys, her new family could get her up and moving by letting her chase some of the wand toys or any other of the plethora of cat toys available.
Iced Tea is such a sweet cat who really enjoys hanging out with humans. She is not a fan of other cats, however, so she probably should go to a home where she is the only feline, at least in the beginning.
The purr-fect family for Iced Tea is going to be the one that falls in love with her and is willing to cuddle with her, hug her and give her that extra shoulder time she craves. She can't wait to meet you!
