Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week - Echo

KCAC's Adorable, Adoptable Pet of the Week is written by Tecla Metzel of Kane County Animal Control. 7/31/2025 3:00PM

“Cats own numerous charms which will make you forget all your worries." – Saki (Hector Hugh Munro), Scottish novelist, short story writer & journalist

Can you hear him?

His meows will catch your attention before you even see the rest of him. He's trying to tell anyone who will listen how much he wants to give an update of his day.

His name is Echo. He's a 4-year-old neutered gray and white Domestic Medium-Haired cat. An extremely social and talkative young fellow, he enjoys sharing his thoughts to everyone, all the time.

In fact, he would be the purr-fect candidate to host a “pawed-cast" of his own. He could bring in all kinds of special guests to discuss the world according to himself. It could be called, “Once Again & Again & Again, With Echo."

Or he could just chatter away to his new family as he lets them know how wonderful it is to finally have a real home after spending so much time living the life of a stray, unsure of where his next meal was coming from.

Echo seems to like other cats, but obviously, his personality is large enough that he will thrive in a home as an only cat, as well.

All his new family will need to do is just allow him his vocal points of view—every day.

KCAC PupDates

Congratulations to Mitzi, the very excitable black and white Australian Cattle dog-mixed puppy that was found at a stone quarry!

Her new family comes with two dogs that will definitely wear her energy down. When she was leaving KCAC, she was so excited to finally go to a home, she brought her new stuffed goose toy with her to show everyone in the lobby.

We're so happy for you, Mitzi! You will finally get all the cuddles and hugs you deserve and your past will no longer define you!

Congratulations are in order for ALT, the gray and white Domestic Shorthair kitten that seems so huggable, but is not particularly fond of getting picked up. She would much rather stalk your shoelaces and then crawl onto your lap for some well-earned down time.

We can't wait for updates from your new family so we can see the beautiful cat you become!
