COUNTDOWN TO EARTH DAY: 25 DAYS TO APRIL 22!
The annual Countdown to Earth Day series is here! Sixteen articles leading up to Earth Day, April 22.
“It takes a village to raise a child,” is a well-known phrase. And Mother Nature is no exception to needing this support.
To truly protect the environment around us, our families, friends, and neighbors, we all have to do our part. The great thing is … being part of this community is a wonderful feeling!
As well-known forester and conservationist Aldo Leopold said, “When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.”
So in the season of Earth Day, let’s focus on working together! Together we can build and maintain a great place to live, a great place to work, and a place that positively contributes to the world around us —things Kane County is all about.
I see it around me every day, from within the county government to the people we serve and the places we work to care for.
Here are just a few examples:
Ultimately, it is up to us (our daily choices, involvement, and conversations with others) to protect what we care about, the well-being of our families, community, and environment.
