FBI: Aurora Man Charged With Robbing BMO Harris in Aurora
A 58-year-old Aurora man is charged with threatening murder and robbing the BMO Harris Bank on North Lake Street of $3,393.
According to the Chicago office of the FBI, Lester N. Bernard, 58, of Aurora walked into the bank at around 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, and handed a bank teller a note which said: “This is a stick up don’t make it a murder! I have a gun! Put the cash in this bag on the counter! No dye packs or u die! And no sudden movements.”
According to the FBI, Bernard then said, “I have a gun. Give me the money. Don’t look at the security guard.”
Bernard had an initial appearance before a federal judge Monday (Sept. 17, 2018).
